Creating // Transforming a lecture-based course into a video game // GEM

CLIENT

The Grenoble École de Management is a French graduate business school consistently ranked amongst the 5 best business schools in France, and amongst the top 1% in the world.

BRIEF

GEM Labs contacted us, via our partners Wonda VR, to transform ST 101, a course on how Corporate Social Responsibility departments can drive companies to put environmental and social responsibility at the center of their strategy, from a traditional lecture-based course into a game.

PROJECT

We worked with multiple professors, administrators, and staff at GEM, including the Director of Research at GEM and the Director of GEM Labs, to transform ST 101 entirely into a 25-room, 10-hour experience that was played by 1600 students. Students who learned via our game performed significantly better on the same assessments than students who learned via the lecture modality, which led GEM to contact us to create a V2, launched in November 2023.

If you are a university looking to deploy ST 101 in your school or an enterprise looking to train your employees on environmentally and socially responsible business strategies, get in touch!
